Preston's Pantry Food Help in the Boyertown Area

Preston's Pantry is the food pantry of Boyertown Area Multi-Service, and it exists to provide the local community with assistance in food to those who do not have the financial means to meet their nutritional needs.

Anyone in need of food assistance who lives in the pantry's service area is eligible. That area is the Boyertown Area School District plus the townships of Hereford, District, Pike, Oley and Amity. The pantry serves more than 300 households each month.

You get nonperishable food items, and bread and frozen meats are often included. Produce and eggs are added if available. Tell the pantry if you need special items such as baby diapers, toiletries and hygiene products, or cleaning products. Staff try their best to accommodate dietary restrictions related to allergies, diabetes and other medical conditions. Because food comes in and goes out at a remarkable rate, what is on the shelves can change from week to week; the pantry posts its most recent updates on its Facebook page at facebook.com/PrestonsPantry.

Visits are by appointment only. Food assistance cannot be guaranteed to walk ins. The pantry meets with individuals and families one-on-one each day to protect privacy and ensure confidentiality, and during that meeting a case manager can also recommend other social services that may help your household.

The pantry is open Monday through Friday year-round, except for holidays. Boyertown Area Multi-Service is at 200 Spring Street, Boyertown, PA 19512. The page does not say how to set up an appointment; 610-367-6957 is the agency's general number for questions.

The page does not state a cost for the food.
