Monthly Food Distribution at the Salvation Army Reading Citadel
The Salvation Army Reading Citadel hands out food to families in need on the last Friday of every month at 301 South 5th Street, Reading, Pennsylvania 19602. The food comes from its Food Assistance and Pantry program and can include meat and dairy products, non-perishable items, fresh bread, pastries, and produce.
The distribution runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, or until the food runs out, so coming early in that window gives you a better chance. The pantry opens only on that one Friday each month.
The page does not say who qualifies, what to bring, whether you need to sign up ahead of time, or whether there is any cost, so ask before you go. The general number for the Reading Citadel is (610) 373-5208, and the food pantry coordinator can be reached by email at Alba.Paulino@use.salvationarmy.org.
