Low-Cost Immigration Lawyers From Church World Service Lancaster
Church World Service Lancaster has staff attorneys and representatives accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice who give free and low-cost legal advice and representation on family and humanitarian immigration matters. The help goes to refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, unaccompanied children and their families in central Pennsylvania, and the program is meant as an alternative to the high cost of private immigration lawyers in the region.
The staff are licensed attorneys and/or accredited to practice immigration law before the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the immigration courts. Church World Service/Lancaster is recognized by the Executive Office for Immigration Review of the U.S. Department of Justice.
A separate part of the work, the Immigrant Children's Program, focuses on children facing deportation without a parent or legal guardian, with Know Your Rights orientations, legal screenings, court preparation and free legal representation.
To get started, request an appointment through the form at cwslancaster.org/immigration-legal-services. The form asks for your name, phone number and email, whether you have met with a CWS staff member before, whether you want an in-person or virtual appointment, and the purpose of the appointment. It is offered in English and Spanish. Clients who owe fees can pay through cwsglobal.org/legal-service-payments.
