Crisis Hotlines and Mental Health Resources From Governor Mifflin School District
Governor Mifflin School District's Student Services department keeps a list of crisis phone numbers and mental health resources that students and families can use when a young person is struggling or may be at risk of hurting themselves or someone else. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, is a network of more than 200 state and local call centers funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. It offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors who help people experiencing suicidal, substance use and other mental health crises. You can call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org. Modeled after 911, the three-digit number is meant to be quick and easy to remember.
The district also uses Safe2Say Something, the anonymous reporting system that Act 44 of 2018 requires every Pennsylvania school entity to use. It teaches students, educators and administrators to recognize the signs of someone who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others and to report that anonymously through the app, the website at safe2saypa.org, or the 24/7 Crisis Center Hotline at 1-844-723-2729.
A Safe2Say tip moves through five steps: the tip is submitted by app, website or call to the Pennsylvania based 24/7 Crisis Center; the Crisis Center triages it to gather enough information to act on it; the tip is delivered to the impacted school and, as needed, to local law enforcement through 911 county dispatch; the school and law enforcement assess and intervene with the at-risk individual; and the school closes out the tip and records the actions taken.
