LIHEAP and heating help in Berks County

LIHEAP is the federal grant that pays part of a heating bill each winter and a crisis grant when the heat is about to go off; it is applied for through the state and closes when the season ends. Every utility also runs an income-based payment plan and a hardship fund, and free weatherization makes the house cheaper to heat.
