Senior Sewer Bill Discount From Muhlenberg Township Authority
Muhlenberg Township Authority, the municipal agency that bills water and sewer service in Muhlenberg Township, offers seniors a 10% discount on their sewer bill once they apply and are approved.
Only one 10% sewer discount applies per household. The page does not say what age counts as a senior or list any income rule.
The discount starts on the bill following the approved enrollment date. There are no retroactive discounts, so nothing comes off bills that were already issued.
Identification is part of the application. It is used for verification purposes only and is not retained by the Authority.
The page does not say where to get the application form, how to submit it, how long approval takes, or whether applying costs anything. The Authority's general phone number is (610) 929-4709, and its office is at 2840 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA, which is where to ask how to apply.
The Authority is an independent municipal agency, separate from Muhlenberg Township, that provides water and wastewater service to over 9,200 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Muhlenberg Township, Borough of Laureldale, and portions of Alsace Township and the City of Reading. A separate military sewer discount is also offered, with its own rules.
