Summary of position

To provide technical assistance, support and monitoring of sites to ensure compliance with the high-quality standards established by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).

Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details)

• Provide proactive consultation and assistance to delegate programs to ensure successful implementation of the OCDEL Contracted Slots programs.
• Act as first reviewer for all fiscal reports sent by the program and forward approved reports along with any issues or recommendations to the Contracted Slots Supervisor.
• Provide support for the implementation of the Infant/Toddler and Pre-Kindergarten Standards at all OCDEL partner sites.
• Provide support to adapt a curriculum that is aligned with the Infant/Toddler Standards.
• Attend and help facilitate OCDEL sponsored professional development events and/or other regional professional development events that support partner staff to services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, Therapy preferred; BA with 5 years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and prekindergarten-age children in the above fields considered.
• Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, and early childhood issues.
• Knowledge of childcare practices including sound fiscal practices and subsidy regulations.
• Exceptional writing, organizational, and management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to collect, analyze and when requested apply information from data collected relevant to the work being done.

Schedule

Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, 12 months/year

Salary

Starting at $63,302.92 as established by the Intermediate Unit Board of Directors per the Compensation and Benefits Plan for The Pennsylvania Key, Classification Education Specialist.
