Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Bilingual Outreach Coordinator

Full-time bilingual (Spanish/English) outreach role focused on advocating for culturally competent care and removing barriers that keep members of the Hispanic community from seeking substance use treatment.

The coordinator conducts outreach activities to raise awareness of outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services, builds and maintains relationships with community organizations, schools and healthcare providers serving the Hispanic population, and organizes and participates in community events and workshops on substance use disorders and recovery options.

Client support duties include

• conducting assessments and screenings of potential clients,
• providing bilingual support and education to clients and families about treatment options, recovery resources and social services,
• and helping clients overcome barriers such as language, cultural stigma, transportation and finances.

The role also involves

• developing culturally appropriate educational materials and programs,
• training staff and volunteers on engaging the Hispanic population,
• collaborating with local agencies and healthcare providers,
• participating in local coalitions and committees on substance use prevention and recovery,
• collecting and maintaining accurate records of outreach activities, client interactions and program outcomes,
