Overview

East Penn Manufacturing is seeking a Safety Intern to support the Health and Safety team. This internship provides hands-on experience with safety audits and inspections, control of hazardous energy, and fire and emergency operations within a manufacturing environment.

The Intern will work closely with safety specialists, technicians and other Health and Safety professionals while gaining valuable experience in workplace safety and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety audits and inspections
  • Conduct job hazard analysis
  • Create and update lockout / tagout (LOTO) documentation
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with safety, industrial hygiene, medical, engineering and manufacturing personnel on project-based initiatives
  • Assist with administrative tasks and file management

Qualifications

Full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree or concentration in:

  • Safety
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Safety Management
  • Fire Protection
  • Engineering
  • Related safety, medical or healthcare field

Sophomore standing or higher preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
