About the class
This Seniors College session at Alvernia University looks at poetry that steps outside familiar forms. Presenter Laurel Radzieski, a poet and Alvernia's Director of Grants, shares work from her book Leaf Manifesto and talks through how the collection moved from first idea to finished book.
The class also includes a guided creative writing exercise built around experimental approaches. It is open to any level of writing experience, and the methods can be applied to other kinds of writing as well, not only poetry. Bring something to write with and on if you like to work on paper.
Sessions meet Tuesday mornings from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at the McGlinn Conference Center, 460 Saint Bernardine Street in Reading. Seniors College courses are designed for older adults in the community.
