This one hour talk looks at how politicians, parties, media figures and other public voices use "elite cues" to shape the way Americans think and vote. The presenter walks through the ways people hand off their judgment to figures they trust, and how shifts in technology have made messages feel more personal, pushed moral framing to the front, and made it harder to come across views that cut against your own.
The session is part of Alvernia University's Seniors College and is led by Nicholas Nicoletti, Ph.D., Director of the university's Ph.D. in Leadership program. It meets Tuesday evenings at The Highlands at Wyomissing on Cambridge Avenue. Come ready to listen, ask questions and rethink a few habits. No background in political science is needed.
