About the class
Play in Clay is a hands on pottery class for kids at Clay on Main in Oley. Young makers learn to build with clay and shape functional pieces like dishes and bowls, along with sculptural work that comes straight out of their own imaginations.
Along the way students pick up the basics of how clay behaves, from wet to dry to fired, and build focus and patience as they work. The class is geared to ages 5 to 12, with instruction suited to what each group is ready for. Expect clay on hands and clothes, so send children in clothes that can get messy.
Sessions run on Monday evenings. Registration and current session dates are handled through the Clay on Main website, and you can reach the studio by phone or email with questions about age groups and what to bring.
