This is an after-hours guided walk through the grounds of the Daniel Boone Homestead, built around the site's ghost stories and local legends. Groups hear about the mysteries surrounding Boone's bones, look for unmarked graves at the DeTurk Cemetery, and learn the story of the spirit window and the "soul hole" at the Bertolet Log House, a structure moved to the property to save it from demolition.
The tour is led by author and paranormal researcher Charles J. Adams III, who has written many books on haunted places in and beyond Berks County and serves on the board of the Daniel Boone Homestead Associates. The program is for adults, ages 18 and up.
The walk begins at the Wayside Lodge. Guests are asked to bring their own lantern and to dress for walking outdoors at night. Pets are not permitted, except service animals, and smoking is not allowed. Group size is limited and advance registration is required, by email to the Homestead or in person at the Visitor Center. Proceeds support the Daniel Boone Homestead.
