About the workshop
This single evening workshop covers the basics of bowl turning. You work at a wood lathe and shape a raw piece of wood into a finished bowl. The instructor, Mike Kuterbach, goes over safe and efficient turning technique and how to hold and use the turning tools. It is open to all skill levels, so no past woodworking experience is needed.
The class meets in the Woodworking Studio on the first floor at GoggleWorks in Reading. Closed-toe shoes are required. A materials fee is due when you register, in addition to the class fee. Students under 18 need written permission from a parent or guardian, which GoggleWorks arranges through its programs office.
Sign up through the GoggleWorks page for this workshop. Registration closes five business days before the class date, so it helps to book early. GoggleWorks also offers scholarships and member pricing, and staff at the front desk can point you to the right studio when you arrive.
