This jewelry class at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts walks you through making a pair of sterling silver dangle earrings. You work with basic metalsmithing methods: sawing, filing, texturing, shaping, drilling and finishing silver components. With guidance from the instructor, you design and build a pair that suits your taste, whether plain and modern or more decorative.
The class is for adults and is open to all skill levels, so no prior metals experience is needed. It runs over two sessions, October 23 and 24, from 6 PM to 9 PM, and meets in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6 on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington St in Reading. Closed toe shoes are required. Students under 18 in an adult course need written permission from GoggleWorks.
