About the workshop
Children and a grown-up work side by side to sew colorful mismatched throw pillows. Pairs share the experience of learning to use a sewing machine, and there is one machine for each parent and child. Pre-cut fabric patterns are provided, so no sewing experience is needed and all skill levels are welcome.
An adult must take part in the workshop alongside the child, and each adult and child attending needs their own spot. The instructor is Paola Mateo, who teaches in both English and Spanish. The workshop runs on a Sunday afternoon as a single two-hour session in the Textiles Studio, room 316, on the third floor at GoggleWorks in Reading.
