Educators from the Indian Run Environmental Education Center bring their traveling owl program to Mifflin Community Library, and they bring feathered coworkers with them. Visitors meet three species of the center's non-releasable owls and learn about the owls that live in Pennsylvania.
The program looks at how these nocturnal hunters are built to survive. Along with the live birds, there are biofacts to examine up close, including feathers and skulls. The Indian Run Environmental Education Center is based in Glenmoore and runs traveling programs with live animals and hands-on activities that encourage care for Pennsylvania wildlife and its ecosystems.
This evening program is free and open to all ages, from children through adults. It takes place at the library at 6 Philadelphia Avenue in Shillington. Contact Mifflin Community Library for details on attending.
