Clean, Well-Equipped Rooms

At the heart of Dutch Motel Shartlesville is its array of modest yet functional rooms. Each unit is equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge, allowing guests to store snacks or reheat meals at their leisure. Frequent visitors praise this convenience: “There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room,” and “They have dog and cat friendly rooms, microwave/fridge in each room.” The beds are noted for being surprisingly comfortable, inviting a restful night’s sleep after a long day on the road.

Hot-water seekers are especially delighted: Casa-style showers produce truly scalding water that quickly evaporates fatigue. One guest marveled, “The shower water was hot enough to scald it out of your pores,” while another simply raved, “LOTS of really hot water.” Whether you’re rinsing off highway grime or unwinding after a busy schedule, the reliably strong water flow is a small luxury that many guests appreciate.

Exceptional Pet-Friendly Hospitality

Traveling with furry companions? Dutch Motel Shartlesville welcomes both dogs and cats for a modest additional fee. Guests consistently highlight the motel’s willingness to accommodate beloved pets, making it a go-to option for animal lovers. “They have dog and cat friendly rooms,” shared one happy traveler. The extra fee is reasonable, and knowing your pet is welcome can transform a stressful journey into a smooth experience for the entire family.

Value-Driven Pricing

With nightly rates among the lowest in the region, Dutch Motel Shartlesville shines for travelers focused on stretching their dollar. “For the price you absolutely cannot go wrong here,” proclaimed one guest, while another noted, “Very affordable. No bugs. Good for a night.” If you’re seeking practical lodging essentials without a hefty bill, this motel’s straightforward pricing and occasional specials help simplify your travel budget.

Warm Service with a Personal Touch

Staff at Dutch Motel Shartlesville are known for going beyond the basics to assist guests. One particularly memorable act of kindness occurred when a forgetful guest left behind personal items; the manager personally mailed them back, earning a glowing review: “I forgot something in the room, and they mailed it to me. Very sweet Indian man running the place. 10 STARS!!!” Whether you have questions about local attractions or need an extra towel, you’ll find reception staff generally friendly and willing to help.

That said, opinions on front-desk professionalism are mixed. While many applaud the warm, approachable attitude of the team, others have experienced hiccups—disputes over rates and occasional brusqueness. Recent visitors advise confirming your rate and reservation details at check-in to ensure a smooth arrival.

Location and Convenience

Positioned roughly 40 feet from the interstate, Dutch Motel Shartlesville delivers unmatched highway access. Morning drivers can be on the road in minutes, and local diners, shops and the historic Berks County countryside are just a short drive away. However, the proximity to Interstate 78 does mean traffic noise can carry into the rooms, especially during peak travel hours. “Building sits like 40 feet from the highway. So it was very noisy,” one guest noted, though most agree that noise subsides after late evening.

Transparency and Booking Tips

For the best experience, reserve your room directly through the motel’s front desk or official phone line rather than third-party platforms. A few travelers have reported unexpected rate changes or last-minute reservation shifts: “Manager will give away your reservation if he can get a higher price for the room,” said one reviewer. By confirming your rate and checking in early, you’ll reduce the chance of booking surprises and enjoy the guaranteed low rates that make Dutch Motel Shartlesville an appealing value proposition.
