Good forlittle kids, big kids

Land of Adventures is an outdoor family play park in Gettysburg, PA, about three miles west of the square off Route 30, on the grounds that were once Land of Little Horses.

Adventure Town gives kids a village of storefronts with grown-up jobs to play at, and the rest of the grounds hold a 12-element climbing playground, jump pillows, pedal karts, duck races, a 130-foot tube slide and a petting zoo of goats. In fall the corn maze, pumpkin patch and wagon rides join the lineup. The site says most families spend two to four hours.

Before you go

Parking is on site and free. Gem mining and the paintball range are add-ons to the Adventure Pass. The slide needs riders at least 42 inches tall and the climbing playground is for ages 4 and up. Paths are grass, paved and stone; strollers wait outside the Adventure Town shops.

Coming up

Glow Weekends have run since September 25, with Fridays and Saturdays open until 9 PM; the corn maze, pumpkin patch and farm wagon rides are on through the fall season.
