About the event
Rodale Institute opens its Kutztown farm for a harvest celebration built around the turn of the season. Wagon tours roll out across the organic fields, giving visitors a look at the research plots and pastures that make up the working farm, and a corn maze gives kids and adults something to wander through at their own pace.
Live music plays throughout the day, and food vendors set up on site alongside fresh apple cider. Younger visitors can paint pumpkins and take part in hands-on activities, and there is a photo booth with a natural farm backdrop for anyone who wants to mark the visit. Gardeners can browse the fall plant sale before heading home.
The event runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, at 611 Siegfriedale Road. Comfortable shoes and layers are a good idea for a day spent mostly outdoors on farm ground.
