The Reading Public Museum sets aside quieter time for guests who explore best in a calmer setting. During Sensory Hours, visitors and their caretakers can move through the galleries at their own pace, in an atmosphere adjusted for comfort, with the Museum welcoming guests of all ages and abilities.

Pre-registration is suggested. Families who sign up ahead receive a pre-visit packet with information they can share in advance, so a guest knows what to expect before walking through the door. The education department can also arrange private sensory hours for small groups when scheduled well ahead of time.

This is a good fit for local families looking for a museum visit built around ease and predictability, whether it is a first trip or a return to familiar galleries.
