The Reading Public Museum opens its galleries for a sensory-inclusive evening designed for guests and caretakers who prefer a calmer, quieter setting. With fewer people in the building and a gentler atmosphere, visitors can move through the collections at their own pace, linger where something catches their interest, and step away when they need a break.

The Museum welcomes guests of all ages and abilities, and this program is part of that commitment. Families who pre-register receive a pre-visit packet ahead of time, so the person attending can see what to expect before walking through the door. Registration is suggested, and the education department can answer questions in advance.

This is a good fit for anyone who has wanted to explore the art, science, and history galleries at 500 Museum Road without the usual daytime bustle. Private sensory hours can also be arranged through the education department with at least two weeks' notice.
