The Reading Public Museum sets aside this evening hour for guests who find a calmer setting easier to enjoy. Sound, crowds, and pace are scaled back so visitors and their caretakers can move through the galleries at whatever speed feels comfortable, pausing where something catches their interest and stepping away when they need a break.

The Museum serves visitors of all ages and abilities, and these sensory-inclusive hours are part of that commitment. Families who register ahead receive a pre-visit packet they can share beforehand, which helps a first time visitor know what the building looks like and what to expect once inside.

Registration is suggested, and the Museum's education department can also arrange private sensory hours for small groups with advance notice. The Museum sits at 500 Museum Road in Reading, with the galleries, the Neag Planetarium, and the surrounding Arboretum all on the same campus.
