About the event
JCWK Dance Lab and Alvernia University have teamed up for the Summer Dance Series for Adults, a nine-week run of classes built for studio teachers, college students, and anyone curious about trying dance for the first time. Sessions meet on the Alvernia campus in Reading, with different level options and class times so participants can find a fit.
The series covers a wide range of styles. Beginning Jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and Intermediate Contemporary with Arielle Ridley make up the first stretch, followed by Beginning Modern with Warchal-King and Floor Work with Megan Zalek. The later weeks bring Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King, along with Flamenco with Amanda Pena.
Instructors are professional dancers and educators, and the emphasis throughout is on the joy and connection that comes from moving together. JCWK Dance Lab is a Berks County contemporary dance company led by director Jessica Warchal-King, whose work centers on dance as a path to wellness and community. Full class details are posted at jcwkdancelab.org/summerseries.
