Walk-In Help With College Financial Aid Forms at Reading Area Community College
The Financial Aid Lab at Reading Area Community College gives in person help filling out college aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the PHEAA State Grant application, the Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling, and scholarship applications.
Walk-in help is available in Berks Hall, Room 107, at 10 S 2nd St., Reading PA 19602. The lab is open Monday 9AM to 5PM, Tuesday 9AM to 7:30PM, Wednesday 9AM to 7:30PM, Thursday 9AM to 5PM, and Friday 9AM to 5PM. The lab phone number is 610-607-6225.
Before you come in, it is advisable to establish your FSA ID. If you would rather get help from home, virtual assistance with the FAFSA is offered Tuesday and Wednesday from 5PM to 7:30PM. No camera is needed for the virtual session, but audio is required.
Financial aid representatives also answer questions by email at financialaid@racc.edu or by phone at 610.607.6225 during regular business hours: Monday, Thursday and Friday 8AM to 5PM, and Tuesday and Wednesday 8AM to 7:30PM. Email is not secure, so do not email forms with Social Security numbers or tax information. Hand-deliver sensitive information or contact the office about other options.
Two numbers you may need for the forms: the Department of Education Code, the 8-digit OPE ID, is 01038800, and the FAFSA School Code is 010388.
The college participates in most Federal and State financial aid programs, and scholarships are also available through the Reading Area Community College Foundation. The page does not say whether the lab is only for RACC students or applicants, and it does not say what the help costs, so ask when you call.
