Mobile Market Food Distributions From Helping Harvest

Helping Harvest runs a Mobile Market Program that brings nutritious produce, dairy and meats to neighborhood sites in Berks and Schuylkill Counties, where staff and volunteers hand the food directly to people who need it.

The program is for low-income residents of Berks and Schuylkill Counties. The page does not say what income counts as low-income, whether you need to bring identification or other documents, or whether you have to sign up ahead of time. Ask Helping Harvest before you go.

The Mobile Market sites give out food once a month, year round, at 23 sites: 13 in Berks County and 10 in Schuylkill County. All of the food is distributed directly by Helping Harvest staff and volunteers. In 2025 the program provided 2,370,429 pounds of healthy food at 290 distributions.

The sites are listed by name only: 11th & Pike Playground, Auburn, Bern, Girardville, Glenside Homes, Huff's Church, Minersville, Mohnton, Muhlenberg, Oakbrook Homes, Oley, Pottsville, RACC, Reading Airport, Shenandoah, South Schuylkill, Tamaqua, Topton, Valley View and Wernersville. The page does not give street addresses, and it does not say which day of the month or what time each site distributes food, so call to find out when the site nearest you is open.

For questions, Helping Harvest can be reached at 610-926-5802. That is the organization's general contact number. Its office is at 117 Morgan Drive, Reading, PA 19608, and the office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those are office hours, not distribution times.

The page does not say whether there is any cost to receive the food, so ask when you call.
