PACE Clearinghouse Help With Prescription Costs for Adults 18 and Over
The PACE Clearinghouse is a program supported by PACE that helps adults in Pennsylvania find local, state and national programs for prescriptions and other needs. Trained staff listen to what you need and recommend resources that fit your situation.
To use the Clearinghouse you must be a Pennsylvania resident and over the age of 18. There is no defined income limit for the Clearinghouse itself. Each program and service it points you to has its own income guidelines, and trained staff will review and explain those guidelines.
The kinds of help staff can connect you with include:
- Medical and prescription programs: programs to assist with medication and medical expenses, medical and dental clinics with sliding-scale and no cost services, Medicare, Medicaid, Medical Assistance, Veteran's benefits and other private plans, and local rehabilitation, counseling and support groups
- Food: local food pantries and sources of meal assistance, SNAP and food stamp programs
- Housing: programs available through state and federal agencies, rental properties, shelters and transitional housing, and utility assistance programs
- Employment: listings of employers and temp agencies, online employment applications, training programs
- Other social and life services: local bus lines and transportation assistance programs, legal aid, and furniture and clothing donation programs to obtain household and personal products
You can apply to the Clearinghouse by phone, online application or email. To apply by phone, call 1-800-955-0989, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After hours voicemail is available. You can complete an online application by visiting the PACE website, or email the Clearinghouse at PAPAPClearinghouse@primetherapeutics.com.
The Clearinghouse does not charge a fee. Some assistance programs have fees, which will be discussed prior to enrollment.
The Clearinghouse is the route for people who cannot get PACE or PACENET, the state programs that lower prescription costs for residents age 65 and up. Both are funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery. The page does not list an office address or say how long it takes to hear back.
