340B Prescription Discounts for Berks Community Health Center Patients
Berks Community Health Center runs a 340B Prescription Program that lowers what its patients pay for medications by filling them through a mail-order pharmacy called Coordinated Care Network, or CCN. Because BCHC is a Federally-Qualified Health Center, it can buy medications at a discount and pass a sliding fee discount on to patients.
The program is for BCHC patients. If you have insurance, BCHC will bill your insurance company. If you pay out of pocket for your medications, apply for BCHC's Sliding Fee Discount Program so that you qualify for a discount on your prescriptions. That discount can also be applied to insurance deductibles and co-payments if you qualify for the Sliding Fee Discount Program and the deductible or co-pay is more than the discounted price for the medication.
Prices vary, but for many commonly-used medications you will save money. Delivery to home or work is free, and CCN describes its delivery as safe and confidential. For your regular medications, CCN requests refills from your provider electronically.
To use the program, ask your provider to send your routine prescriptions to CCN electronically. A CCN customer service representative will then contact you to set up your account and arrange for payment and delivery. When they call, they can tell you what each medication would cost, so you can compare costs with your local pharmacy. You are under no obligation to buy any or all of your prescriptions from CCN. You may use CCN for the prescriptions you want and use other pharmacies for the ones you would like to fill locally, or use CCN for all your medications.
CCN does not fill prescriptions for opioid medications, or prescriptions written by providers who do not work at BCHC.
You can reach CCN customer service representatives by phone Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The page does not print CCN's phone number, so ask your provider or the front desk for it.
