Summary of position:

To enhance the effectiveness of educational services for students with special education or mental health service needs through consultation with families of students enrolled in BCIU operated programs and/or Berks County School Districts.

Job Responsibilities (see attached description for additional details):

Serves as liaison between home, school, and community resources and provides referral and follow-up to such resources.

Assist families in applying for medical assistance or other community/governmental supports.

Coordinate the information and efforts of clinics and private therapist working with students, helping parents to understand their child's development and disability.

Coordinate and serve as a member of multidisciplinary teams as requested.

Provide support to teachers and aides through consultation, group work with students, participation in parent conferences and IEP meetings.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Worker and school social work certification required.

License in Social Work required.

Ability to work independently, make work-related decisions, and exercise good judgment

in prioritizing tasks.

Experience in counseling, working with families, accessing mental health services, and

familiarity with special education.

A working knowledge of community agencies and government assistance programs.

Schedule:

Full-time, 35 hours/week, 10 months/year

Salary:

Bachelor = $52,919 to $81,690

Bach+15 credits = $53,636 to $82,415

Bach+24 credits = $54,427 to $83,215

Masters = $64,370 to $93,955

Mast+15 credits = $65,063 to $94,655

Mast+30 credits = $65,755 to $95,355

Mast+45 credits = $67,141 to $96,755

Mast+60 credits = $68,377 to $98,005
