Veterinary Technician

Humane Pennsylvania's Humane Veterinary Hospitals (HVH) is hiring a Veterinary Technician to support the hospital as well as the programs, services, and clinics under HVH direction.

Responsibilities include

• ensuring a high level of animal welfare and working to improve animals' quality of life
• administering medications
• monitoring animals under anesthesia and during surgical recovery
• and caring for pets while educating pet owners

Applicants must be either a Certified Veterinary Technician or a Veterinary Technician with at least two years of veterinary hospital, shelter medicine, or high-volume spay/neuter experience; a Pennsylvania CVT license or that two years of experience is preferred.

Experience with animal restraint, venipuncture, and medication administration is required.

Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team, have a friendly personality and superior animal care skills, empathetic communication skills, a love of animals and the human-animal bond, and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and people.

Additional preferred skills include

• surgical prep
• anesthesia induction
• recovery and monitoring
• dental prophy
• and dental radiography

Spanish-speaking ability is highly desirable.
