Nepal Talk: The People, the Mountains, and the Tragedies
Starts Wed, Oct 14, 6:00 PM · Free · Ages 13 and up
About the class
Vicki signed up for a trip to Nepal to trek the Himalayas without knowing much about what was ahead. She trained to handle the high mountains, and the experience went on to change how she thinks about travel and about life. At this session at the Bethel-Tulpehocken Public Library, she shares pictures and stories from that journey.
She also talks about how her connection to the country and its people grew deeper as she helped raise funds after the earthquake there. A recent catastrophic event has put her back in touch with some of the same people who worked on disaster relief then.
The program is open to ages 13 and up. Please pre-register through the library's website, or by calling or texting the library.
