About the class
This adult ceramics class at Clay on Main focuses on sculpture and basic handbuilding. You start with core concepts and building techniques and move toward more advanced skills as you go. Along the way you learn about clay, glazes and other materials, and how they behave in your hands.
All levels of experience are welcome, and experimentation is encouraged, so you can arrive as a complete beginner or come back to clay after time away. Sessions run Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM with instructor Nancy Diay-Metz. Expect to work with wet clay, so wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty and keep fingernails short.
