About the workshop
Naturalist Lisa Gauker of Berks County Parks and Recreation leads this mix of mushroom science and art at the Shiloh Hills Park Environmental Center. Lisa talks about mushrooms, then takes the group on a walk to collect them. Back together, everyone uses simple drawing techniques to make fungi art.
The program covers plant and fungal identification, drawing and painting, and the colors and textures of fall. It runs on a Monday evening and is part of the Family Nature Series, which is open to adults with and without children. Ages 5 and up are welcome.
Pre-registration is required, and each person planning to attend must be registered individually. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian registered to attend with them. Sign up through the township's online activity registration. Registered participants are sent updated information and directions to the facility by email before the program, so watch for that message.
