Riverview Tree & Landscaping, and Riverview Gardens & Gifts

Riverview Tree & Landscaping, and Riverview Gardens & Gifts operate together from a single property at 3049 Pricetown Rd in Temple, Pennsylvania, along the Route 12 corridor in northern Berks County. The business combines two related operations under one roof and one set of grounds: a full landscape contracting company that designs and installs outdoor spaces, and a retail garden center with an attached gift shop. Customers can reach the business by phone at +1 610-929-5049.

The retail side covers nursery stock, houseplants, pond supplies and a large year round gift department. The service side handles landscape design and installation, tree planting, hardscaping and water feature work for residential properties in the surrounding townships. Because the crews and the sales floor share a location, a customer picking out a tree can often get planting guidance from the same people who install trees professionally.

Garden Center and Nursery

The outdoor nursery yard carries shade and ornamental trees, evergreens, flowering shrubs, perennials, annuals and seasonal color. Stock rotates with the growing season in southeastern Pennsylvania, which means spring brings the widest selection of bedding plants, vegetable starts and hanging baskets, while late summer and fall shift toward mums, asters, pumpkins, ornamental grasses and fall planting stock. Trees and shrubs are generally the heaviest part of the inventory, reflecting the company's roots in tree work and landscape installation.

Indoors, the greenhouse area holds a tropical and houseplant collection that includes both common starter plants and less frequently stocked varieties. Shoppers will typically find monstera, peperomia, rubber plants, pothos, succulents, cacti, ferns and a range of decorative pottery to go with them. Soil, amendments, fertilizers, mulch, pest controls and general garden supplies are stocked alongside the plants, so a planting project can be assembled in one trip.

Staff members are a significant part of how the garden center functions. Questions about sun exposure, drainage, deer resistance, soil conditions and local pest pressure, including spotted lanternfly management, are a routine part of the sales conversation rather than an add on. Many customers return specifically for that guidance when a plant struggles or when they are planning a bed and want to know what will actually grow in a given spot.

Pond, Koi and Water Features

Water gardening is a defined specialty here rather than a sideline. The business stocks live koi and pond fish, along with aquatic plants, liners, pumps, filtration, water treatments, netting and fish food. On the service side, crews build and maintain backyard ponds and water features, and they handle the seasonal work that pond owners in this climate need: spring openings and cleanouts, equipment checks and fall winterizing before freeze up.

For homeowners considering a first pond, the combination of a retail counter and an installation crew is practical. The same team that sells the pump can explain sizing, placement, depth for overwintering fish and the maintenance rhythm that a Pennsylvania pond requires through the year.

Landscaping and Tree Services

Riverview Tree & Landscaping provides design and installation work for residential clients across the Temple, Fleetwood, Blandon, Reading and greater Berks County area. Typical projects include planting plans and bed installation, foundation plantings, large caliper tree planting, retaining walls, patios and walkways, drainage corrections and ongoing landscape maintenance. Tree work and pond maintenance are regular parts of the schedule.

Because the nursery and the contracting business share an inventory, plant material specified for a job often comes from the same yard that retail customers browse. That arrangement lets clients see the actual trees and shrubs under consideration before installation. Onsite services are available, and estimates and scheduling are arranged by phone.

Riverview Gardens & Gifts

The gift shop occupies a substantial portion of the indoor retail space and has developed a following independent of the plant business. The merchandise mix leans toward items that are difficult to find at chain retailers: home décor, candles, kitchen and tabletop goods, jewelry, crystals and minerals, garden flags, wind chimes, birdhouses and bird feeding supplies, fairy garden miniatures and accessories, cards, and a rotating assortment of seasonal goods. The department is organized so that browsing is part of the experience, with displays changing through the year.

Gift presentation is handled in house. Staff regularly assemble plant based gifts, wrap pots and put together combinations for birthdays, housewarmings, sympathy and holidays. For customers who want something living rather than packaged, a potted plant finished with proper wrapping is a common request.

Christmas and Seasonal Shopping

The holiday season brings one of the larger transformations of the retail space. The Christmas department includes artificial trees, light sets, ornaments, garland and wreaths, collectible décor and traditional European items such as German smokers and nutcrackers. Fresh greens, poinsettias and holiday arrangements are typical of the season as well. Many area shoppers treat the holiday setup as an annual outing, and the display generally goes up well before December to allow for early shopping.

Classes and Workshops

Riverview runs hands on classes and workshops for adults and children throughout the year. Subjects have included terrarium building, cactus and succulent planters, kokedama, container design and seasonal craft projects. Sessions are taught on site using materials from the store, and they function both as instruction and as a way for participants to leave with a finished piece. Details on upcoming workshops, dates and registration are available by calling the store.

Ownership and Character

Riverview is a small, independently operated business and identifies as women owned. It is listed as LGBTQ+ friendly. The operation reflects the scale of a local, family run garden center: the people answering plant questions on the sales floor are often the same ones who order the stock, and the landscape crews work in the same communities where the store's customers live. That continuity is a large part of how the business has built its reputation in Berks County, both as a plant supplier and as a place where people shop for gifts throughout the year.
