Ensemble Arts Philly
Philadelphia, PA · 1 hour 19 minutes from Reading

Plan the day
Ensemble Arts Philly is the nonprofit that runs the Kimmel Center, the Academy of Music, the Miller Theater and the Forrest Theatre on and near Broad Street in Center City Philadelphia.
This is where touring Broadway plays Philadelphia, where the Philadelphia Orchestra performs in Marian Anderson Hall, and where jazz, comedy and family concerts fill the smaller rooms, all within two blocks of each other. The box office at the Academy of Music is open daily, so a show here is a straightforward evening or matinee from Berks. Doors open an hour before each performance.
Before you go
Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early for parking and security screening. Prepaid parking at the Kimmel Center Garage (300 S Broad St) is $32; the Avenue of the Arts Garage (1501 Spruce St) sells spots through ParkWhiz. The rideshare zone for all three Broad Street venues is at the Miller Theater entrance.
Coming up
The Great Gatsby plays the Academy of Music October 20 to November 1, Handel's Messiah with the Philadelphia Orchestra is December 4 and 5, and Jim Gaffigan plays the Miller Theater December 10 to 12.
