Morris Arboretum & Gardens is a 92-acre public garden in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, PA, open daily year-round with seasonal exhibitions.

The grounds take in a Tree Canopy Walk, a fernery, Morris Pond, historic structures and the Whimsical Woods, with an outdoor Garden Railway that runs Memorial Day weekend through September 30. Fall brings the Scarecrow Walk, and from November 22 to December 30 the Holiday Garden Railway lights a third of a mile of track with loops and tunnels, included with daytime admission.

Before you go

Buy tickets online to save $2 each. Parking on site is free. No pets except service animals; there is no café, so bring a picnic for the designated picnic areas. Terrain is hilly in places; there is a paved ADA path, and free wheelchairs and electric scooters go first come, first served.

The 19th annual Scarecrow Walk runs October 1 to November 1, free with admission. The Holiday Garden Railway runs November 22 to December 30, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., included with admission; Nighttime Express evenings need advance tickets, on sale to the public November 9.
