Lake Tobias Wildlife Park
Halifax, PA · 1 hour 48 minutes from Reading · $20 to $50 a person
The 2026 season runs to the end of October; self-drive safari weekends follow on the first three weekends of November

Plan the day
Lake Tobias Wildlife Park is a family-owned, 150-acre wildlife park and zoo in Halifax, PA. Safari tours ride through the grounds, and the park counts more than 1,000 animals from six continents.
The safari tour is the reason to make the drive: a ride through the park's safari grounds, where only food bought at the park may be fed to the animals. The zoo side adds a Reptile and Exotics building, and picnics are welcome: bring lunch, use a free table or a $15 reserved pavilion table, and even bring a grill. The park says to plan about four hours, more with a picnic, and parking is always free.
Before you go
Tickets are sold at the gate only (cards accepted); admissions and the safari close one hour before the park. Picnics are welcome: free tables, $15 reserved pavilion tables, personal grills allowed. No pets. Strollers rent for $10, wagons $15. Safari tours pause in thunder or heavy rain.
Coming up
Boo at the Zoo Weekend is October 17 and 18, 10 am to 4 pm: children 12 and under in costume get in free (safari tour extra), with five trick-or-treat stations and pumpkin decorating while supplies last.
