Plan the day
Lakota Wolf Preserve is a nonprofit wolf, fox, bobcat and lynx preserve in Columbia, NJ, visited on a guided Wolf Watch tour. Tours leave at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm by reservation.
You stand in an observation area in the center of the preserve with four packs of wolves around you while a guide explains how a pack eats, ranks itself and interacts. The tour then moves on to the foxes, bobcats and lynx. It runs about 75 minutes, rain or shine, and the preserve has cared for these animals since 1998.
