Harvest Fest brings a full afternoon and evening of live music, food, and neighborly company to the grounds of St. Mary Parish on Walnut Road in Hamburg. Doors open at noon and the day runs through nine in the evening, so you can stop by for an hour or settle in and stay for the whole thing.
The Vince Rollins Duo plays from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Vince Rollins handles guitar and vocals alongside George Kouba on bass and vocals, with a broad song list that suits a range of ages and musical tastes. The Northkill Creek Band takes over from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, a Hamburg based group whose sets mix rock, country, bluegrass, and blues, which makes for a fitting close to a fall Saturday.
Parish festivals like this one tend to draw a wide crowd, from families with young kids in the early hours to folks who come out for the evening music. Bring a chair if you like having your own seat, and plan for a relaxed stretch of the first Saturday in October.
