Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center hosts its afterschool STEAM series with a Halloween edition built around glow. Young learners spend the late afternoon on hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities shaped by the season, with the darker, brighter side of late October as the through line.
The setting is part of the appeal. Nolde Forest covers more than 725 acres of deciduous woodlands and coniferous plantations, with a trail network reaching streams, ponds, and varied habitats, and the McConnell Environmental Education Hall beside the mansion serves as the indoor classroom for programming. The center is operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and has offered activity-based programs for students, teachers, and families since the early 1970s.
