Classical guitarist Dr. Ben Lougheed comes to St. John's (Hain's) UCC in Wernersville for an afternoon program in the Annie M. Gaul Concert Series, bringing technical command and warm, expressive playing to the sanctuary. He has performed across the United States on series including Guitar Sarasota, Utah Classical Guitar, Kerrytown Concert House, and the Dale Mabry Guitar Series.

Lougheed earned his Bachelor of Music in guitar performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and completed master's and doctoral degrees at Florida State University. Alongside performing, he works as an educator and recording artist, and education and outreach run through his work, with a focus on connecting with audiences through informative exchanges alongside the music. His debut recording, Baroque Legacies, pairs arrangements of Baroque works with more modern guitar pieces shaped by that tradition.

The Annie M. Gaul Concert Series is an outreach ministry of St. John's (Hain's) UCC, presenting chamber music, classical guitar, handbells, marimba, jazz, choral music, and more for Berks County audiences. Support comes from individual and corporate contributions along with free-will offerings, and everyone is welcome to gather and share in an afternoon of live music.
