About the event
The Erie SeaWolves come to Reading for an evening of Double-A baseball at FirstEnergy Stadium, with first pitch set for 6:45 PM on September 22. The Fightin Phils play in the Eastern League's Northeast Division and serve as the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, while the SeaWolves represent the Southwest Division as the Double-A club of the Detroit Tigers. Both sides earned spots in this year's Eastern League postseason, so the rosters on the field are full of prospects who have spent the summer playing meaningful games.
Erie brings a strong recent pedigree to Baseballtown, with league championships in 2023 and 2024, and Reading clinched its first postseason berth since 2019 this season. It is a matchup between two organizations that have built deep pitching staffs and lineups worth watching.
The ballpark itself is part of the draw. FirstEnergy Stadium carries a classic look through its brick exterior and arched entranceways, and the main entrance along the first base side opens onto a plaza with a bar, boardwalk-style concession stands and a stage where the Fightin Phils Mascot Band performs classic rock covers. A swimming pool in right field and a video board in left round out the setting. Gates open ahead of first pitch, leaving time to walk the concourse before the game begins.
