About the event
The Reading Royals host the Trenton Ironhawks at Santander Arena, with the puck dropping at 7:00 PM. Trenton is one of the newer names on the ECHL map, arriving for the 2026-27 season at CURE Insurance Arena after the Utah Grizzlies franchise relocated to New Jersey, and the club skates as an affiliate of the New York Islanders. That makes this a chance for Berks County fans to size up a fresh opponent still building its identity.
The evening is the Royals' Hockey Fights Cancer game. Joining the effort led by the National Hockey League, the night brings the hockey community together in support of cancer patients and the families walking alongside them, giving the crowd something to rally around beyond the score. It doubles as Healthcare Workers Appreciation Night, recognizing the nurses, technicians, aides, and doctors who serve the region every day.
Expect the full Saturday night package at the arena: fast ECHL hockey, a loud building, and plenty for kids and first timers to enjoy between periods. It is an easy outing for families, coworkers, and anyone looking for a reason to be downtown on a November evening.
Hosted by Reading Royals Hockey Club on BerksConnect.
