Fall Festival Day brings the whole farm to life at Weaver's Orchard in Morgantown, with plenty to do around every corner. Visitors can pick their own fall favorites, wander the sunflower field and climb the viewing tower, take a hayride, browse the pumpkin patch, and stop by to see the goats and chickens. This date lands squarely in peak apple picking season, so the orchard is a good place to spend the day.
Kids have their own lineup of activities, including duck races, apple bobbing, pumpkin ring toss, bowling and tic tac toe, corn bins, a small hay bale maze, a hay bale ball pit, a tower play area with tunnels, and the playground. Fall themed trivia with Happy Chad runs in the morning, and the Vinyl Ventures Band plays in the afternoon. The group is a five piece classic rock cover band based in Southcentral Pennsylvania, drawing on songs from the likes of The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rolling Stones, Queen and The Eagles.
Food is a big part of the day. Blue Kraken BBQ, Sammy's Fries, Castaneda's Mexican Restaurant and Gourmet PB&J are on site, alongside the Food Shed with apple pie focaccia, apple cider lemonade, loaded chili and warm apple pie with whipped cream. The ice cream shed serves apple cider slushie floats with cider donuts, and the market is stocked with pumpkins, apples and seasonal gifts.
