The Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange Festival brings Berks County's dance community together on the stage at Alvernia University's Francis Hall Theatre. Presented by JCWK Dance Lab, the Berks County company led by native Jessica Warchal-King, the festival grows out of the group's work creating joy, connection, and wellness through storysharing and dance.
The GRADE Festival gathers adult-focused performance groups and ties the celebration of local dance to Berks County's anniversary year. Past programs have reflected the range of movement happening across the area, spanning styles from ballet to bachata and dancers of widely different ages, with flamenco, Mexican folk dance, aerial dance, bellydance, Irish dance, and contemporary and Latin companies among the participants.
The afternoon suits anyone curious about what local studios, college teams, and independent artists are making, whether you dance yourself or simply enjoy watching. Alvernia University has on site parking, and Francis Hall Theatre is ADA accessible.
