Wellness Walk
November 7, 2026 · 9:00 AM · Gring’s Mill Recreation Area, 2083 Tulpehocken Road, Reading · Free, registration suggested

About the event
Berks County Parks staff lead an hour-long brisk walk along the Union Canal Trail, starting from Gring's Mill Recreation Area. The pace is set for steady movement rather than a leisurely stroll, and the group setting makes it easier to get out the door on a cool fall morning.
The trail here is a crushed stone path that follows the Tulpehocken Creek, flat and easy underfoot, with creek views and wildlife along the way. Year-round restrooms are available at Gring's Mill Recreation Area. Walking shoes or similar footwear are recommended, and dressing for the weather will keep the hour comfortable.
It is a good fit for anyone building healthy habits, looking for outdoor time in the cooler months, or hoping to meet neighbors who want the same thing. Note that pets are not permitted in Berks County Parks other than Antietam Lake Park, though service animals are welcome.
