Hamburg Bookworm Bolt 5K Run/Walk

The Bookworm Bolt brings runners and walkers to Hamburg Community Park for a morning 5K that supports the Hamburg Public Library. The course starts at Franklin Street and Park Road, where the park and surrounding streets give participants a straightforward route through familiar territory.
The event pairs the 5K run/walk with a one mile fun run, so families can pick the distance that suits them and younger participants have a place in the field. Awards go to the first overall male and female finishers, along with the top two men and women in age groups spanning seventeen and under through seventy and older. Timing is handled by Pretzel City Sports.
Proceeds benefit the Hamburg Public Library, which recently expanded and renovated its building and continues to grow its programs, technology, and community resources. Walkers, casual joggers, and competitive runners are all part of the morning.
