Homeschool Days - Holidays Around the World: Festivals of Light & Life
December 10, 2026 · 10:00 AM · The Neag Planetarium, 500 Museum Rd, Reading · Designed for elementary school age students; younger and older siblings welcome to participate. Reservations required.

About the event
Museum educators lead this homeschool morning at the Neag Planetarium, pairing a guided look at The Museum with hands-on projects the whole family can take part in. The December theme follows holidays around the world, exploring the festivals of light and life that different cultures celebrate as the year turns toward its longest nights.
The planetarium dome is a fitting setting for that subject, since its shows regularly connect space science with the ways cultures across the globe have read the sky. Programs there explore the marvels of space science and celebrate diverse cultures, and families can expect a mix of looking up and making something with their hands.
Sessions are built for elementary school age students, with younger and older siblings welcome to join in. Program pricing includes Museum admission for the day, so there is time afterward to wander the galleries, the collections, and the arboretum grounds along Museum Road.
Hosted by Reading Public Museum on BerksConnect.
