Weaver's Orchard turns its Fall Festival day into Johnny Appleseed Day, with the man himself on hand to greet visitors and share his story. Kids can add to the coloring station and the community art wall, then wander out for the rest of what the farm has going on.
Forgotten Friends Reptiles brings a live show in the morning, with time between performances to meet the animals up close. Long Acre Hollow fills the afternoon with bluegrass, and food trucks including Sammy's Fries, Bop Hop Cotton Candy and chicken barbecue set up alongside the market's apple pie, cider lemonade and cider donuts.
The festival grounds stay open all day: hayrides, the sunflower field and its viewing tower, the pumpkin patch, pick your own fruit, duck races, pumpkin games, hay bale tunnels and a ball pit, corn bins and the goats and chickens. It is an easy fall Saturday for families, with plenty of room to take your time.
