Kutztown University Homecoming: The Breakfast Club at the Kutztown Strand
Fri, Oct 23, 6:00 PM · 232 West Main Street, Kutztown · $10 per person, payable at the venue

About the event
Kutztown University's Homecoming weekend opens with a screening of The Breakfast Club at the Kutztown Strand, the downtown movie house that has been part of town life for generations. The building dates to 1912, when it was constructed as Herman's Playhouse, and it took the Strand name in 1927. Today it hosts first run films, classic titles, and special events.
John Hughes's story of five students stuck together in Saturday detention has stayed a favorite across generations, and a full house makes the familiar lines and the soundtrack land all over again. Alumni, students, and neighbors are all welcome, so it works just as well as a night out for anyone who loves the film as it does as a reunion stop.
The evening is meant as a relaxed start to the weekend, with time to catch up before Saturday's campus events and football festivities begin. Grab some popcorn, settle into a seat in downtown Kutztown, and let the '80s take it from there.
Hosted by Strand Theatre on BerksConnect.
